SPEAKING

I’m getting nervous just thinking about it, but I think it’s important to speak out and that’s why I do it.

Past Events:

July 13, 2018

A lovely ex-patriate and formidable maternal mental health researcher named Jodi Pawluski found me on Twitter one day and asked if I’d like to be a keynote speaker at the 2018 Parental Brain Conference in Toronto. First, I freaked, as in thew up a little, and then I said yes. I was the only journalist in a room full of scientists so I spoke about how to connect with media to get more coverage on their important work. I told them to stop spending so much time with rats. I think they liked it.

I had a great time marching for mental health, maternal mental health in particular and was one of many speakers that day at the second annual March for Mental Health Toronto.
